“But unto you that fear my name shall the Sun of righteousness arise with healing in his wings; and ye shall go forth, and grow up as calves of the stall.” – Malachi 4:2
Comment: Sun of Righteousness is also one of the names and titles of Jesus Christ. He is called this name and title because he is the only one who gives light or understanding of the purpose of God and makes people know the truth and practice it.
God used Isaiah His prophet to write of how in righteousness He will elect His servant to be a light to the gentiles or the world. Read Isaiah 42:1,6-7.
After the days of Mary’s purification, the child Jesus, was brought to the temple, and a devout man named Simeon whom God had told will not die until he had seen the Lord Jesus came by the Spirit into the temple and carried the child, praising God, saying, “Lord, now lettest Thou thy servant depart in peace, according to Thy word: For mine eyes have seen Thy salvation, Which Thou hast prepared before the face of all people; A light to lighten the Gentiles, and the glory of thy people Israel.” (Luke 2:29-32). This statement of Simeon confirms the fulfilment of the prophecies that Jesus Christ is the Sun(Light) of Righteousness.
Indeed, Jesus Christ from the age of twelve began to enlighten the people in Israel and make them free from falsehood, superstitions and evil ways. John 3:18-19; See Luke 2:42-49; John 8:12 & 32.
Jesus Christ, the Sun of Righteousness before his ascension to heaven, gave commandment that the gospel should be taken to the uttermost parts of the earth(Acts 1:8). So when the Jews opposed Paul and Barnabas at Antioch, St. Paul told them, “For so hath the Lord commanded us, saying, I have set thee to be a light of the Gentiles, that thou shouldest be for salvation unto the ends of the earth. And when the Gentiles heard this, they were glad, and glorified the word of the Lord: and as many as were ordained to eternal life believed.” – Acts 13:47-48.
In this age of the end of the world, the anointed Remnants of the Apostles are being chosen and sent by the Sun of Righteousness to preach the gospel of the Kingdom so that the sheep of God might be blessed with Salvation.
Prayer: Our God and Father in heaven. We Your children appreciate Your lovingkindness for sending the Sun of Righteousness to enlighten us for Salvation. Help us to so abide in Jesus name. Amen
