“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life” – John 3:16
Comment: Unconditional love is known as affection without limitations or love without conditions. This term is known as complete love. So God’s love for His people knows no bound/limit.
God’s love for mankind, as described in the Bible, is clearly unconditional in that His love is expressed toward the objects of His love despite their disposition toward Him. In other words, God loves without placing any conditions on the loved ones; He loves because it is His very nature to love (1 John 4:8). That love moves Him toward benevolent action to His creatures: “He causes his sun to rise on the evil and the good and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous” – Matthew 5:45.
God gave up HIS son for our redemption even before we were born into the world.
In Romans 5:8, the bible says, “But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us”. What manner of love is this.
In conclusion, God has demonstrated HIS love towards mankind by sending Jesus Christ to teach us the truth and in the process pay the ultimate price for our redemption from sins and death so that we can gain eternal life. We must then reciprocate this great love by knowing, believing God through Jesus Christ our Lord and keep or do His will. – John. 8:31,32; John 17:3.
Prayer: Dear Father in heaven, thank You for Your love in sending Your only begotten son Jesus Christ to shed his precious blood for our redemption. Father, help us to reciprocate by keeping Your commandments through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
