“Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.” – Mark 11:24
Comment: Prayer has the power to produce required results. What is needed is implicit faith in God and His word. Then steadfastness in the practise of righteousness.
Elijah, the Prophet of God made idol worshippers in ancient times to realise that their belief in “baal” as God is fake. The prophets of baal prayed from morning till evening without answer but when Elijah prayed to God Almighty, and his prayer was answered. The people were compelled to confess; “……The Lord, he is the God; the Lord, he is the God.” – 1 Kings 18:37-39; see also 1 Kings 17:19-24.
The prayer of Jonah in the fish belly is another striking example of the power of prayer. Here Jonah in the belly of a fish that swallowed him when he remembered God and prayed to Him for forgiveness. God heard and the fish vomited out Jonah on dry land. – Jonah 2:1-10.
Jesus Christ during his first advent on earth through prayer, God Almighty his Father raised Lazarus who was dead and buried for four days in the grave back to life. “….. Then many of the Jews which came to Mary, and had seen the things which Jesus did, believed in him.” – John 11:41-45.
Jesus Christ had cursed the fig tree and it withered away by the next morning as observed by Peter. Then he said to his disciples, “…Have faith in God. For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith. Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.” – Mark 11:22-24.
Prayer is a very effective weapon of every child of God. *Pray always*
