RECEIVING THE PROMISED RAIN
“And I will make them and the places round about my hill a blessing; and I will cause the shower to come down in his season; there shall be showers of blessing.” – Ezekiel 34:26
Comment: God’s promises are evergreen and assured on the condition that we keep His divine instructions. It is His command that the Feast of Tabernacles should be celebrated by all people of the world with the promise to send rain or showers of blessings on all celebrants. (Zech.14:16-19).
To receive or possess or obtain God’s promised rain there are steps or conditions that must be followed or taken. For instance, God told Abraham, leave your father’s country and people, and travel to a place I will show you. He promised him, “And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing: And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed.”(Genesis 12:1-3). Abraham obeyed without any enquiries or hesitation. He took with him his wife, his nephew, all his servants, possessions and travelled towards Canaan until God appeared to him again when he had reached the place He wanted to give him and his seed. – (Vs 4-7; 15:18-21) God also promised Abraham that his wife Sarah will conceive and bear a son in her old age. – Genesis 17:15-17.
God did fulfill His promise to Abraham. That Abraham obeyed God it was counted to Him as righteousness. (Genesis 15:1-6) So shall it be with those who take the word of God seriously like father Abraham – Galatians 3:6-9.
Prayer: By God’s grace and power we shall receive the promised rain through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
