    HAVE A PURE HEART!

“Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God.” -Matthew 5:8

*Comment:* God is an embodiment of purity. That is why He is called HOLY. – Isaiah 57:15. Whatever God says or does is pure. In Proverbs 30:5, it is written: “Every word of God is pure: he is a shield unto them that put their trust in him.” It is stated also in Job, thus: “Shall mortal man be more just than God? shall a man be more pure than his Maker?” – Job 4:17; read also Psalms 12:6; 19:8

A pure heart is clean thought and feelings in man. It is that unadulterated and undefiled thought and feelings of truth and righteousness. The Psalmist said, it is “He that hath clean hands, and a pure heart; who hath not lifted up his soul unto vanity, nor sworn deceitfully.” – Psalm 24:4

No one is clean since we were all shapen in iniquity and conceived in sin. (Psalm 51:5) In Proverbs 20:9, King Solomon wrote, “Who can say, I have made my heart clean, I am pure from my sin? Indeed, it is the word of God that makes one’s heart to be pure (John 15:3). A pure heart obeys the truth. Read 1 Peter 1:22.

God’s children are to be pure in heart. King David wrote, “With the pure Thou wilt shew thyself pure; and with the froward Thou wilt shew thyself unsavoury.”(2 Samuel 22:27; Psalm 18:26) Then, St. Paul admonished Timothy to “Flee also youthful lusts: but follow righteousness, faith, charity, peace, with them that call on the Lord out of a pure heart.” – 2 Timothy 2:22

It is for all to “…draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water. For ye have need of patience, that, after ye have done the will of God, ye might receive the promise” of eternal life – Hebrews 10:22, 36; 1 John 2:25.

*Prayer:* O Gracious and Almighty God our Father in heaven, help us to have a clean heart condition so that we may see or understand Thee and do Your will for blessings and Salvation through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
