Keep Your Hope Alive!
“He staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief; but was strong in faith, giving glory to God; And being fully persuaded that, what he had promised, he was able also to perform.” Romans 4:20-21 (KJV)
Comments: God’s children have been called to holiness and splendor. We’ve also been called to fight; this is a faith-based battle (1 Timothy 6:12). In this war of faith, Abraham, our patriarch, is a role model to follow. God promised him a son when he was 75 years old, but it took 25 years for God to fulfill his promise. Abraham’s faith was put to the test several times throughout these 25 years.
He maintained his faith, but along the way, he betrayed it and fathered Ishmael (Genesis 16:1–16). Because God informed Abraham that Ishmael was not the son He had promised him, Abraham had to rekindle his faith until Isaac was born.
Dearly beloved, take inspiration from Abraham’s narrative and persevere in your faith until you obtain God’s promise for your life. If you happen to fall during your journey, don’t stay there. Encourage yourself and keep fighting in prayer until you receive what you believe in God for (1 Samuel 30:6). It was made by Abraham, and it can be made by you as well.
Prayer Point: Thank You, my loving Father, for encouraging me to keep my faith since You will surely reward me. I immediately put Your Word to work and will continue to do so all the days of my life for my blessings in Jesus’ name. Amen!
