FALL AND QUICKLY GET BACK TO YOUR FEET!
“For a just man falleth seven times, and riseth up again: but the wicked shall fall into mischief” – Proverbs 24:16
*Comment:* Watch a child learn to walk, falling down is an inevitable part of the process. The ability to get back up is critical for the development of a child’s balance and muscle development to walk. Similarly, a boxer is disqualified not because he is knocked down, but because he did not get back up in time. Boxers are well aware that they will fall, so they concentrate on falling safely and swiftly get up. While the child learns to walk, the boxer gets up quickly. It’s all about getting back up. These applied to both the righteous and the unrighteous, according to the Bible. They both fall.
If the righteous fall or sin, they will get up again but when trouble strikes the wicked, that’s the end of them.’ (Proverbs 24:16) The unrighteous stay down—the righteous get up again!
Repentance is key or vital for the righteous to get back up. Though he will suffer some punishment but he will rise again. King David is a good example. He took Uriah’s wife and killed Uriah but he repented though he was severely punished by God and forgiven. He became a man after God’s heart. – 2 Samuel 11; 2 Samuel 12; etc.
Don’t stay down when you fall, quickly get up, repent and make amends. You will be forgiven and you will stand up. Staying down means you’ve accepted failure—getting back up means you’ve activated your faith for Salvation. – Proverbs 28:13,14; Isaiah 55:7; etc.
*Prayer:* O God our Father in heaven, help us to realize our faults whenever we err and forsake them and do that which is right Thy sight always for our blessing and salvation by Thy grace through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen!
