“Evil pursueth sinners: but to the righteous good shall be repayed.” – Proverbs 13:21
Comment: The Righteous is a person who acts in accordance with the Truth or Word of God preached by Jesus Christ (the Word of God personified), his true anointed Servants, and their companions and associates in this age of the end of the world. The Righteous are obedient, faithful and show trustworthiness to the Truth. Knowledge of the truth is vital to be Righteous.
God promised blessings to the natural Jews who obeyed His commandments. He through Moses told the Jews, thus: “Behold, I set before you this day a blessing and a curse; A blessing, if ye obey the commandments of the LORD your God, which I command you this day…” – Deuteronomy 11:26-28. This blessing apply to all God’s children of all ages.
The blessings God has promised those that faithfully obey His commandments or truth are numerous and some were outlined in Deuteronomy 28:1-14. Other blessings are that God will bless the Righteous with favour and compass them with a shield. (Psalm 5:12). He has promised peace to the Righteous (Psalm 37:35-40; Isaiah 32:17,18; 33:15,16; etc). He has also promised to grant the desires of the Righteous and give him or her eternal life on earth. – Proverbs 10:16,24,30; etc.
During Christ’s Ministry on earth, at his Sermon the Mount of Olives, he stated, “But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things(material blessings) shall be added unto you.” (Matthew 6:33). Then he told “those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free. If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.” – John 8:31-32,36.
The freedom is to be freed from ignorance, freed from sin, freed from the consequences of sin including death. Therefore, the Righteous has blessings. Never return to sin else evil will pursue such ones to death. – Ezekiel 18:20,24. Be wise.
Prayer: O God our heavenly Father, help us Your children to practice Thy truth we hear always so as to receive Your promised blessings manifoldly in this present time and in the world to come, life everlasting through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
