“And one of the elders saith unto me, Weep not: behold, the Lion of the tribe of Juda, the Root of David, hath prevailed to open the book, and to loose the seven seals thereof.” -Revelation 5:5
Comment: The Lion of the tribe of Judah is one of the names and titles of Jesus Christ. Lion is an animal known for its strength and boldness. The tribe of Judah is the human progenitor of Jesus Christ whom God incarnated into a human embryo in the womb of a virgin Mary and born into this world.
Thus, Lion of the tribe of Judah shows Jesus Christ as one who is bold and powerful from the tribe of Judah. Judah was the fourth son of Israel, the son of Isaac, the son of Abraham, the father of the faithful. – Galatians 3:6-9; etc.
Israel in blessing Judah prophesied of Jesus Christ as a lion who will exhibit strength and boldness that will attract people of God to him. It is written: “Judah is a lion’s whelp: from the prey, my son, thou art gone up: he stooped down, he couched as a lion, and as an old lion; who shall rouse him up? The sceptre shall not depart from Judah, nor a lawgiver from between his feet, until Shiloh come; and unto him shall the gathering of the people be.” – Genesis 49:9-10; see also Proverbs 28:1,2; Hebrews 7:14.
Today, all power given to Jesus Christ by God Almighty, he is employing to rule in the midst of his enemies (Psalm 110:2; Matthew 28:18) to protect, defend, and keep in safety all God’s children that are gathered into the Kingdom fold for refuge. He is the Lion of all who praise God.
Soon, Satan, the devil, all wicked people and wickedness shall be destroyed at the impending great tribulation and battle of the great day of God Almighty by Jesus Christ, the Lion of the tribe of Judah. – Daniel 12:1, 2; Matthew 24:21; 1 Thessalonians 1:6-9; Revelation 7:9-14; Revelation 16:13,14,16; Revelation 20:1-3.
Prayer: All glory, honour and praise to God Almighty Jehovah our Father for sending Jesus Christ. May Jehovah continue to deliver and protect all His people from the wickedness of Satan, the devil and all his agents through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen. Happy Freedom Day!
