THE LAW OF CHANGE!
“Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.” – Hebrews 13:8
*Comment:* Change means to become different from what was original. God Almighty Jehovah is the Author and Possessor of life. Everything about Him is original, perfect, errorless and without blemish. Nothing wrong or evil. He is the same from everlasting to everlasting in personality and attributes of wisdom, power, justice and love. God does not change and there is no variableness or shadow of turning with Him. He inspired Malachi His prophet to write, “For I am the Lord, I change not; therefore ye sons of Jacob are not consumed.” – Malachi 3:6; see also James 1:17.
In the same vein man was created by God. We were created perfect without sin but the sin of disobedience by our progenitors changed our perfect life patterns to imperfections. Making mankind up till date to continually seek for change. Change in everything in life. No it should not be so. It was never so.
Our Lord and Saviour also does not change. St. Paul stated that he is the same yesterday, and today, and for ever. Jesus Christ came to this world to teach man how to become perfect or unchangeable as man was originally after he was created. Thus, he went about doing good and giving succour to those that were oppressed of the devil, as an example unto us. St. Peter stated that God was with him. – Acts 10:38; see also John 6:38.
It implies therefore, that every true and genuine Christian must never be given to change in life. Let us holdfast the tradition as we have been taught whether by words or epistle. (2 Thessalonians 2:15). We must strive to be the same yesterday, and today, and for ever like our Lord Jesus Christ. We should never mix up with the ungodly who are given to change.
King Solomon warned, “My son, fear thou the Lord and the king: and meddle not with them that are given to change: For their calamity shall rise suddenly; and who knoweth the ruin of them both?” – Proverbs 24:21-22
The law of change is that Christians should never ever change from the path of grace and truth Jesus Christ brought to the world.
*Prayer:* Our God and Father in heaven. You never change. Help Your children to be the same yesterday and today and for ever in grace and truth through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
