“Circumcise therefore the foreskin of your heart, and be no more stiffnecked.” – Deuteronomy 10:16.
Comment: God Almighty made a covenant with Abraham, commanding circumcision (removal of the foreskin) of every male child on the 8th day as a token of their covenant. Failure to circumcise would result in being cut off from their people because “he hath broken my covenant” (Genesis 17:10-14).
Abraham obeyed accordingly. (Genesis 17:24-27). Later on, all the males in the gentile city of Hivite were made to be circumcised by the sons of Israel when Shechem, the son of Hamon, the prince of the city defiled Dinah, their only sister and wanted to marry her. For they felt it was a reproach for the uncircumcised to marry from the circumcised so they refused. – Genesis 34:14-16,24-26.
In the days of Joshua, God renewed this covenant of circumcision of the foreskins with the children of Israel, the Hebrews or Jews. – Joshua 5:2
So, the natural Jews were identified by the circumcision of their foreskins.Take note, there was nothing as female circumcision in the Holy Bible. Note this, it is wrong to circumcise the female.
However, Moses before his death spoke of the spiritual circumcision which is of the heart. – Deuteronomy 10:16.
