“So shall they fear the name of the Lord from the west, and his glory from the rising of the sun. When the enemy shall come in like a flood, the Spirit of the Lord shall lift up a standard against him.” Isaiah 59:19.
Comment: Fear is an unpleasant emotion caused by the threat of danger, harm or pain. The enemy refers to Satan the Devil and his wicked agents.
Beloved, the children of God have been raised above their enemies. In fact, the devil and his cohorts of darkness have been put under your feet (Luke 10:19). The enemies who want to hurt and destroy you have God to wrestle with. God will put fear in them and put them to flight. When they come like a flood, even in a cunning way, God will lift up a standard against them.
Beloved, be encouraged by the opening scripture and be steadfast in your faith. Practice God’s righteousness. Only be strong and courageous to do right and in prayer and don’t compromise on your moments and times of prayer (Ephesians 6:10). Rise up early to commit your day to the Lord and see how God will cause everything to work for your good because you love Him; make time to fellowship with Him (Joshua 1:7,8; Matthew 6:33; Romans 8:28). May God strengthen you to continue to be a victor and not a victim. Praise the Lord! You are an overcomer!
Prayer: My loving and faithful Father, thank You for Your Word of assurance. Indeed, my enemies have been put under my feet so that I don’t have to fear them. I give You all the reverence and praise—keep lifting a standard against my enemies for me to continually enjoy victory through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen!
